What is Tres Flores?

If only I could talk to you for a moment, 

perhaps gain some advice,

would you tell it to me straight,

or say something nice? 

Reaching to you, 

palms up in the air,

If only I could smell the Tres Flores in your hair

Smiling out towards nothing,

and feeling so blue,

I wish, how I wish

I could see your smile too

The contour of your fingers, 

I remember in my head,

the calluses on your hands, 

from ‘hard hours at labor’ you said

Smelling you here, 

even though you are far,

I want to pay you a visit, 

drive to Heaven in my car

There is so much to say, 

a story or two to tell

I miss you so much, 

I can barely speak,

my heart sobs with each thought, 

feels like inhaling concrete

I will leave you with this, 

it’s all I can muster,

I love you, 

you’re the Dad with the most luster
